Inducted in 1984. John Hadl, a smart, tough and durable quarterback, ranked fourth in the all time NFL passing standings when he retired in 1983.
In a fifteen year career during which he was never seriously injured, he passed for 33,513 yards and 244 touchdowns.
A two time All-American at the University of Kansas, he played eleven seasons with the San Diego Chargers (1962-1972), leading them to the 1963 AFL championship.
He also played for the Los Angeles Rams, the Green Bay Packers, the Houston Oilers, and was selected NFL Man of the year in 1971 as a Charger and in 1973 as a Ram.
