andy-borthwickInducted in 1983. “Andy” Borthwick was a civic leader of many talents who could run a large banking institution, chair a major community project and still maintain a two or three handicap on the golf course.

At age eighty-two, he could still shoot in the 70’s. He won U.S. Senior Championships in 1977 and 1978, when he was seventy-seven and seventy-eight, and four California Seniors titles in the 1960’s.

Andy’s other passion was rowing. He was an oarsman on championship crews for the San Diego Rowing Club and a prime mover in establishing the San Diego Crew Classic.
