2006 spring sports, Alan Trammell presented Breitbard All-CIF certificates

Alan Trammell (center), a six-time All-Star with the Detroit Tigers from Kearny High and Breitbard Hall-of-Famer, spoke to All-CIF athletes in spring sports on June 25 at the Hall of Champions. He presented All-CIF certificates in 12 spring sports and Breitbard Star of the Month plaques. The honored athletes also posed with Trammell and two American League MVP plaques won by Baseball Hall-of-Famer Ted Williams in 1946 and 1949. Williams, a Hoover High alumnus, grew up with Hall of Champions founder Bob Breitbard. Williams' MVP plaques are on display at the Hall of Champions Sports Museum in Balboa Park. The Hall of Champions is pleased to announce the 2006 Breitbard All-CIF teams for 12 spring sports sanctioned by the CIF San Diego Section office. The teams listed below include the athlete of the year and the coach of the year for each sport. The athletes and coaches of the year are selected by a media panel. The Breitbard All-CIF team is the official All-CIF team recognized by the San Diego Section since the San Diego Section was formed in 1960. Click on photos for larger images.
