Budinger named CalHi's Male State Athlete of Year

La Costa Canyon High's Chase Budinger was named Male State Athlete of the Year by CalHiSports.com.

La Costa Canyon's Chase Budinger (second from left), named the Boys State Athlete of the Year on July 7, received his Star of the Month plaque for February on April 2 from Chargeers Pro Bowl fullback Lorenzo Neal (far left) at the Hall of Champions. Neal was the Boys State Athlete of the Year in 1988-89 at Lemoore High near Fresno. Also pictured receiving plaques from Neal are Hoover's JayDee Luster (second from right) and Eastlake's Stephen Carr.
