QB -- Tate Forcier (Scripps Ranch), 6-1, 190, Jr.: The third and last Forcier brother – Jason is now at Stanford after transferring from Michigan and Chris enters his freshman year at UCLA -- tops the preseason All-San Diego team. Tate was a sophomore starter last year when he led Scripps Ranch from among the also-rans in the Eastern League to the Division II playoffs with a 6-5 record. He completed 104 of 172 passes for 1,482 yards and 16 touchdowns.
RB -- Raleigh Sevier (West Hills), 5-9, 175, Sr.: Sevier enters his fourth varsity season after earning second-team All-CIF honors as a junior. What he lacks in size he makes up for in grittiness. He carried 234 times for 1,417 yards (118.1 per game) and 13 touchdowns last year. He's the grandson of the late Wayne Sevier, a San Diego high school legend that played quarterback for Don Coryell at San Diego State and won two Super Bowl rings as an assistant for Joe Gibbs with the Washington Redskins.
RB -- Ben Wilkins (El Capitan), 6-1, 218, Sr.: El Capitan coach Ron Burner says he used to only receive generic recruiting letters from national powers. But now recruiters are stopping by campus. One day USC assistant Johnny Morton showed up with interest in Wilkins, a second-team All-CIF pick as a junior. He rushed for 1,022 yards on 141 carries.
WR -- Dillon Baxter (Mission Bay), 6-1, 200, Soph.: There was speculation Baxter would play this year at Lincoln with the re-opening of the school. But he hasn't enrolled and is expected to remain at Mission Bay. Baxter could end up a four-time All-CIF pick after earning second-team honors as a freshman. He has the ability to play running back as well as line up wide. He scored nine touchdowns, including key scores that led the Bucs to a share of the Western League title.
WR -- Nelson Rosario (El Camino), 6-6, 220, Sr.: Rosario, who has committed to UCLA, was San Diego's Male Athlete of the Year as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track and field. He was first-team All-CIF as a junior when he caught 53 passes for 1,015 yards (19.1) and 10 touchdowns, although the Wildcats lacked a quarterback that could consistently get him the ball.
TE -- Ryan Deehan (Poway), 6-5, 230, Sr.: Miami Dolphins tight end Justin Peelle was the first one to project a bright future for Deehan when he served a coaching internship the spring of Deehan's freshman year while Peelle was still with the Chargers. Deehan was a starter as a sophomore and emerged as a first-team All-CIF choice as a junior when he caught 51 passes for 832 yards (16.3) and five touchdowns.
OL -- Deryck Beveridge (El Capitan), 6-9, 330, Sr.: Beveridge is still growing into his body, but he made huge strides midway through last season when he was switched from tackle to guard. UTEP was on him early with an offer, but the recruiting word is spreading.
OL -- Sam Brenner (Oceanside) 6-2, 270, Sr.: Brenner made an early commitment to Utah after a junior season in which he led the Pirates to the CIF Division II title. He was the only underclass offensive lineman named to the All-CIF first team.
OL -- Corey Page-Skolnik (Scripps Ranch) 6-2, 290, Sr.: Page-Skolnik was a first-eam All-Eastern League pick whose play up front provided protection for quarterback Tate Forcier as the Falcons emphasized their passing game.
OL -- Kyle Kmet (Bonita Vista), 6-5, 305, Sr.: Kmet is a big body and a late bloomer expected to show continued improvement while leading the Barons' running game as a senior.
OL -- Calvin Kolone (Fallbrook) 6-2, 325, Sr.: Kolone is a big body that was overlooked at Fallbrook last year during the Warriors' disappointing season, but a strong offseason has him poised to rank among San Diego's top linemen.
PK -- Travis Golia (La Jolla Country Day), 6-0, 175, Sr.: Golia was second in the San Diego Section in kicking points last year with 51 PATs and seven field goals for 72 points.
- Defense
DL -- Chris Poussan (St. Augustine), 6-4, 228, Sr.: Poussan's speed off the ball made him a pass-rushing force as he earned first-team All-Eastern League honors as a defensive end.
DL -- Jamaar Jarrett (Mission Hills), 6-4, 250, Sr.: Jarrett is one of the most heavily recruited athletes to play for Chris Hauser, a former Vista head coach and assistant before moving to Mission Hills. The powerful defensive end must show he can bounce back from last year's school suspension that forced him to miss the playoffs.
DL -- Edward Nuckles (Mission Hills), 6-2, 300, Jr.: Nuckols is a William Perry-like body who carries the ball in short-yardage situations as a fullback and stops the run as a defensive tackle that is tough to move aside. He was first-team All-Valley League on defense as a sophomore.
DL -- Marcus Williamson (Oceanside), 6-2, 260, Sr.: Williamson was the Pirates' other junior lineman – along with offensive lineman Sam Brenner – that was a dominant force for the Division II champions. He was a first-team All-CIF choice on defense.
LB -- Tyler Gaffney (Cathedral Catholic), 6-1, 195, Jr.: Gaffney was a first-team All-Eastern League pick as a sophomore and probably should have earned All-CIF recognition. He's physical against the run and can come hard off the edge when blitzing.
LB -- Nick Pascarella (Carlsbad), 6-1, 200, Sr.: Pascarella earned All-CIF honors as a sophomore at Rancho Bernardo for his pass rushing ability. His transfer to Carlsbad resulted in more time at running back, and he was a second-team All-Avocado League pick. Big graduation losses will result in the Lancers using him at linebacker this year more than last season.
LB -- Nick Calderon (Rancho Buena Vista), 5-11, 205, Sr.: Calderon earned second-team All-Avocado League honors last year as a junior in a league that was heavy on linebacker talent.
DB -- Danny Breihan (Santa Fe Christian), 6-0, 175, Sr.: Breihan was a second-team All-CIF defensive back while leading the Division V champion Eagles as a ballhawk and sure tackler.
DB -- James Johnson (Valley Center) 6-2, 190, Jr.: Johnson has emerged as one of the top all-around football players in San Diego. He made his biggest impact as a defensive back, but he also plays wide receiver. He was a second-team All-CIF DB as a sophomore.
DB -- Vince Ewing (Carlsbad), 6-0, 190, Sr.: Ewing, a safety with good anticipation, has committed early to Colorado. Last year he was a first-team pick on the All-Avocado League team while he helped Carlsbad win a second straight Division I title.
DB -- Jared Relyea (Poway), 6-3, 185, Sr.: Relyea was a playmaker on both sides of the ball for the Titans, but his coverage skills with his size allow to make his biggest impact at safety. He was a second-team All-CIF pick as a DB.
P -- Brian Stahovich (Cathedral Catholic), 6-0, 185, Sr.: Stahovich has exceptional hang time that averages over 4.1 seconds and can sometimes approach five. He made an early commitment to San Diego State.
- Multi-Purpose
QB/RB/DB -- Casey Allred (Torrey Pines), 5-9, 180, Sr.: He doesn't have the size of his father, former Chicago Bears tight end John Allred, or his uncle, Denver Broncos' eight-time Pro Bowler John Lynch, but Allred has football instincts. He shifts to quarterback as a senior after playing wingback and defensive back as a junior.
WR/KR -- Lamont Enyard (Oceanside), 6-4, 210, Sr.: Enyard continues the Oceanside tradition of 6-foot-plus wide receivers that can run. He was a second-team All-Avocado League pick as a junior, but he could see time as a return man and defensive back as a senior.
QB/RB -- Corey Trisby (Hoover), 6-3, 190, Sr.: Trisby is a multi-talented athlete with a strong arm at quarterback and a threat to run the ball. He also is a star on the basketball team.
QB/DB -- Marcus Vasquez (Otay Ranch), 6-1, 185, Sr.: Vasquez led the Mustangs to the Mesa League title as a second-team All-CIF pick at quarterback, but he doubles up on defense in the secondary.
RB/DB -- Josh Wade (Point Loma), 6-1, 180, Sr.: Wade was a first-team All-Western League pick on offense that will see an increased roles at running back and defensive back. Last year he helped the Pointers to a share of the Western League title and a runner-up finish in Division III.
OL/DE -- Brad Woodward (Vista), 6-4, 225, Sr.: The Pantheers' two-way lineman was an All-Avocado League second-team pick on defense as a junior. Vista will rely on him more on both sides of the ball this year.
