Years ago, Meb Keflezighi saw his first television and didn't know what it was, now as the first American to medal in the Olympic marathon in 28 years, he's doing commercials.

As fellow UCLA alums, UCLA head football coach Karl Dorrell presented Meb Keflezighi his Breitbard Star of the Month plaque. Dorrell, a friend of the Hall of Champions, spoke at Sports at Lunch on May 18 at the Hall.

Meb Keflezighi

Meb Keflezighi's 2005 Nike promotion card highlights his career achievements before 2006: 1) Olympic Marathon silver medalist, 2004; 2) three-time U.S. national champion in the 10,000 meters; 3) two-time U.S. national champion in 12K cross country; 4) four-time NCAA champion at UCLA; 5) New York City Marathon, second in 2004 and third in 2005; 6) American record in the 10,000 meters, 27:13.98.
