U.S. Open Exhibit: April 28 through November

The USGA is sponsoring at U.S. Open exhibit at the Hall of Champions in Baloba Park that recognizes the 108th U.S. Open that was played in June at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

The exhibit features memorabilia and the stories of the U.S. Open’s 108-year history. San Diego’s three U.S. Open champions, Billy Casper (1959 and 1966), Gene Littler (1961) and Scott Simpson (1987), also have memorabilia from their Open championships on display.

Jay Rains, the driving force behind bringing the U.S. Open to Torrey Pines, speaks at the unveiling the U.S. Open exhibit. Rains was honored by the Hall of Champions as its 2007 Community Champion for bringing the U.S. Open to San Diego.

Doug Stark, the USGA Museum's curator, visited the Hall of Champions from the USGA Museum in New Jersey for the unveiling of the U.S. Open exhibit.
