EDITOR'S NOTE: Boston baeball historian Bill Nowlin, author of the book "Ted Williams at War," will appear for a book signing at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Borders bookstore at 668 Sixth Ave. in the Gaslamp District near Petco Park. Nowlin, vice-president of the Society for American Baseball Research, also will speak at the SABR Ted Williams San Diego Chapter meeting at 9:30 a.m. on June 23 at the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park. Nowlin will speak about his book and Todd Anton will speak about his book, "No Greater Love: Life Stories of the Men Who Saved Baseball." The SABR meeting is open to the public a donation is requested for admission.
