SAN DIEGO—(Oct. 1, 2015)—San Diego Padres pitcher Tyson Ross and San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen headline the list of 14 overall Stars of the Month for September as selected by the San Diego Hall of Champions.

Ross posted a 3.19 ERA, allowing just 11 earned runs in 31.1 innings.  He fanned 36 batters against 10 walks while holding opponents to a .202 batting average over five starts.

Allen was among the NFL’s top receivers through the season’s first three games as he caught 29 passes for 315 yards, including a career-best 15 for 166 yards in the season-opener against Detroit.

Elsewhere, amateur Stars of the Month included San Diego State football standout Rashaad Penny, cross country champion Elaine Ribeiro and men’s soccer player Rene Reyes; USD quarterback Anthony Lawrence, UCSD volleyball hitter Meagan Wright and Cal State San Marcos soccer forward Louie Farfan.

On the high school front, St. Augustine running back Elijah Preston, Serra field hockey ace Megan Rodgers, RBV record-setting running back Dominic Taylor, Cathedral Catholic volleyball standout Lexi Dorn, Kearny’s multi-talented football player Dakoda Browne and Rancho Bernardo golfer Calista Reyes were honored.
