Oceanside High earned the Division I State Bowl Championship bid and, as expected, Francis Parker was chosen for the Small School game yesterday at the selection meeting at the Home Depot Center in Carson.
Both teams will play at the Home Depot Center on Friday evening.
Parker, whose records shows two losses–one to unbeaten Mission Bay and another by forfeit–will face Modesto Christian (14-0) to kick off the five games starting at 4 p.m. John Morrison’s club, which won its second straight section Division V title on Friday, 55-20 over Bishop’s at Qualcomm Stadium, is led by quarterback Deon Randall.
Oceanside (13-0), the section Division II titlist after downing Helix 26-10, will meet San Jose’s Bellarmine Prep (11-1-1) in the 8 p.m. contest. Two years ago Oceanside captured the Division II title with a win over Novato and the only blemish on their record since is a tie with Ramona.
