Tennesee Titans offensive guard Eugene Amano, a Rancho Bernardo High alum, and San Diego State legend Marshall Faulk are speaking at Sports@Lunch on Wednesday, July 8 at the Hall of Champions. They are appearing to promote a free football camp sponsored by the Eugene Amano Family Foundation on Saturday, July 18 at El Toyon Park in National City.

This is the first year for Amano’s free camp that will be staged for the first 300 kids from ages 10 to 18 to sign up. Other NFL players will join Amano and Faulk for the on-field instruction. The camp is sponsored by the Eugene Amano Family Foundation, the City of National City and Mayor Ron Morrison and the Filipino Press.

Amano is entering his sixth NFL season after his first season as a full-time starter in 2008 when the Titans were 14-2. The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder played at Southeast Missouri State, where he won the David Rimington  Award as the nation’s top Division I-AA collegiate center.

Faulk is the future Pro Football Hall-of-Famer from his career with the St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts. He was a three-time All-American and 1992 Heisman Trophy runner-up as a running back at San Diego State. He now works for NFL Network and makes his home in Rancho Santa Fe.

Faulk and Amano will discuss the camp and the upcoming 2009 football season at Sports at Lunch and then the floor will be opened up for questions from the audience.
