Bob Elliott

Inducted in 1967, Bob Elliott was selected the National League’s Most Valuable Player in 1947 when he hit .317, drove in 113 runs and clouted 22 home runs as a third baseman for the Boston Braves, whom he joined after eight years with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He hit two homers and batted .333 for the Braves in the 1948 World Series against the Cleveland Indians. Bob played in five All-Star games and led the National League in walks in 1948 with 131.

Elliott also drove in at least 100 runs six times and had a career .289 average in fifteen major league seasons. He played for the Pacific Coast League San Diego Padres in 1954 and managed them from 1955-1957.
